STS November meeting 2021

Hello all members of the STS section!

Now that autumn is here, STS's November meeting is also approaching!

The November meeting is one of two annual large meetings that the section has. At the November meeting, among other things, some positions of trust will be elected (see which ones below), proposals and motions will be processed, and the 2021 board will present its activities for the previous semester.

Before the November meeting, the following items can be applied for. Note that some of the board positions' term of office is half a year, while some are a full year. This is because from now on half the board will be elected at the November meeting, and half the board at the Spring meeting.

The nomination committee carries out a nomination process based on the applications that have been received before the meeting. There is also the possibility to stand as a candidate at a sitting meeting, but a nomination can weigh heavily when choosing among several candidates. A candidate applies for a position individually and the selection committee does not accept group applications or special requests to work with a specific person. The link to the search will be published on Monday 1/11.

Writing motions: A good way to get your opinions and proposals heard is to write motions that will then be voted on at the general meeting. Any motions must be sent to sts-ordf@utn.se no later than 18/11 at 11.59 p.m.

The STS award: During the meeting, the winner of the annual STS award will also be presented. The STS award goes to a person who contributes/contributed to the program or section.
